Every so often someone does it at strangeways, we have all been sneaking and sailing around the jazz scene, Grimtooth even played his Jaco Pastorius homage which he made with his own fingers and beautiful mind...
So last night I played a DJ set in Second Life, my first in May, and it was a sweet occasion with some of the loveliest people I have met in the whole of SL....it was one of those sets that start with a vague theme but ends in randomness and extends way over the normal 2 hour slot.
I started with some old soul and garage tunes I had recently acquired through various sources, including some of the excellent blogs listed here! As the night grooved on so the set morphed into a jazz scene with some trippy cosmic soul love jazz blooming out of some heavy african grooves..i was smiling all night because the people are the glue in Second Life, they make it sticky and hard to let go!! Strangeways is surely the most stickiest soul funk love indie punk rudie beatnik electro mod jazz trash cartoon club that never existed!
